Court Administration

Humphreys & Associates has many years of experience working in court systems in the United States and abroad.

In the United States, team members have managed operations in both federal and state courts and have covered all aspects of case management, support of judges and communications with the bar and public. Our international work has focused on improving the efficiency of court operations in developing countries through the introduction of modern case management practices. For example, in Nepal, we designed a system to collect and analyze caseload data that should help the courts identify bottlenecks in their operations and speed up case processing. We also helped the Nepalese courts modernize their case files, archives and recordkeeping systems.

In Albania, we helped the courts improve the efficiency of their operations by developing a set of data-based management tools (including data collection instruments and on-site surveys) and taught them to use those tools to measure — and ultimately improve — the effectiveness of case administration. We also worked with the Albanian courts on calendaring, records management, public access to information  and judicial training.
